Installation view Ruthin Craft Centre

Interior is an installation made while Artist-in-Residence at Ruthin Craft Centre. It took Tyson several months to create Interior; a multi-sensory experience exploring the hypocrisy of the use of the phrase “it’s what’s on the inside that counts”. Entering the space, visitors to become cocooned completely, allowing them access inside this intimate and seductive installation work. Within the work, masses of undulating silky fabric with hand-stitched feminine folds introduce us to a private world where visitors are invited to hibernate and spend time. Tyson’s experiential encounter has more layers than what meets the eye: the walls of the structure move and seem to breathe, eerily calling up the visceral body.
